Presented by Pisgah Productions, this popular pedaling event attracts participants from the southeast, many returning every year for the traditional spring ride, and bragging rights for completing one of the most challenging rides in the nation.
Cyclists follow one of three routes of up to 100 miles across Jackson, Macon and Transylvania Counties riding steep climbs and fast descents over 10,500 feet-plus of elevation changes. The event offers adventurous athletic challenges suitable for the seasoned to beginner rider. And for all, it's great outdoor recreation amid breathtaking natural scenery featuring granite-faced mountains, flowering valleys and running rivers.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Friday – 5:00pm-10:00pm – Sign-in and registration open at the Cashiers/Glenville Recreation Center.
Saturday – 5:30am-7:30am – Sign-in and registration open.
Saturday – 8:00am – CENTURY ride start.
Saturday – 8:30am – METRIC ride start.
Saturday – 9:00am – QUARTER ride start
This year, the CENTURY RIDE will kick off at 8:00 a.m. (NOTE: NEW TIME) from the Cashiers/Genville Recreation Center on Frank Allen Road. METRIC RIDERS will depart at 8:30 a.m. and QUARTER CENTURY riders will begin at 9 a.m. sharp. Returning riders will be welcomed back at the finish line at the Cashiers-Glenville Recreation Center. Riders will then be treated to complementary snacks and beverages at the Ugly Dog Pub right around the corner.
Support and Gear (SAG) trackers will follow riders throughout the day to promote their safety and comfort. There will be four rest stops stocked with food and water along the way. Route guidance and emergency medical services will be provided by regional fire departments, rescue squads and other law enforcement agencies. Bring your own fan club of family and friends as there’s plenty to do in Cashiers while you’re on the road!
